As a black woman, I can assure you that we spend a lot of time and money maintaining our hair. We are serious about our hair and know that our hair affects our mood, it has it's own vocabulary and it bonds us together through the thick and the thin. Yet, something so essential to our identity is often misunderstood and seen to be a challenge.
