The Harz Mountains are one of the most popular hiking regions in Germany. For hikers from North Germany, these mountains are very close. You can go there for either a leisurely stroll on a Sunday afternoon or a sporty hike along the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg to get in touch with nature.

It's indeed a hiker's paradise because of its well-signposted hiking trail network of over 8,000 km. You can experience short or long distances, narrow paths or well-maintained hiking trails, and challenging or easy routes. And after a long joyful hiking day, you can enjoy delicious food at local restaurants and rest in one of the numerous hotels in the immediate vicinity.
