Valorant (stylized as VALORANT) is a free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter developed and published by Riot Games, for Windows. It takes inspiration from the Counter-Strike series of tactical shooters, borrowing several mechanics such as the buy menu, spray patterns, and inaccuracy while moving. With its variety of weaponry, agents whose abilities can turn the tide at any moment and high-stakes tactical gameplay, VALORANT has become a widely-popular game around the world.
Valorant is set in the near future, where there is another planet
Earth called Omega-Earth, a parallel world connected to the
world as we know it, referred to as Alpha-Earth in the game.
The players play as one of a set of agents, characters based on
different countries throughout the world, with an array of unique
abilities.
The main game mode is comprised of an attacking team and a defending
team playing the best of 25 rounds within a match, where the teams
switch places after the first half. The attacking team's goal is to
deliver and plant a bomb-like device called a spike into specific
sites within the map and protect it until detonation, while the
defending team must prevent the spike from being activated or defuse
it before it detonates. Either team can win the round if the members
of the other team are eliminated.
