CrossFit is a general strength and conditioning training program that provides the widest possible physiological adaptation for any type of person, regardless of age or physical level, thus generating greater optimization of all physical abilities; they are: cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
This is the primary method of strength training and fitness used in many police academies, tactical operations groups (such as SWAT), US Army special operations units (such as the US Marines), martial arts champions and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes around the world, as well as moms, dads, grandparents, kids and even people with special needs.
Unlike conventional weight training, which works muscles in isolation, CrossFit uses functional movements inspired by gymnastics , weightlifting and athletics . The workouts are monotonic proof, defined day by day. In common, they have the three work steps: warm-up, technique and WOD (workout of the day).
