The Light of a fandom
Kpop is an industry made of many unique traditions and practices. From
the cultish fanchants to charecter plushies that fans collect
feverishly, noone does fanning the way Kpop fans do. Out of the plethora
of quirky things that Kpop fans do when stanning their favourite
artist/group, few things top the rythmic bounce produced by an ocean of
light sticks.
The concept of a lightstick is pretty straight forward. It is a stick
with a light at the end of it. The light is usually the logo or symbol of
the group and tends to emit the offical colours of the group and/or
fandom. Some sticks get fancy with flashing patterns and colour changes,
but regardless of bells and whistles the purpose of lightsticks remains
the same: show your faves that you love em!
