What is Pilates?

Pilates is a low impact mind-body exercise that requires core stability, strength, and flexibility. Pilates is an exercise that is great for all ages and fitness levels; from a total beginner to a Pilates enthuiast. The more you practice Pilates, the better! Pilates develops control and endurance in the entire body. Pilates is very versatile—while you certainly can do it in a gym or studio, you definitely do not need to. If at-home exercise is better for you, or even if you just want to acclimate yourself to the exercise type before joining a public class, there are plenty of streaming or virtual Pilates options too. Pilates moves tend to target your core, although the exercises work other areas of your body as well.
