Elephants are native to only two continents: Africa and Asia.
They are also the biggest land animal. There are three species of
elephant: African savanna, African Forest, and Asian. You can tell these
species apart by the shape of their ears. African elephants' ears are
shaped like the continent Africa, and Asian elephants' like subcontinent
India. Sadly, African elephants are critically endangered, as around 90%
of their population has been wiped out in the past century. This is due to
the ivory trade (Elephant tusks are made of ivory). Asian elephants are
also threatened and have declined by 50%, mainly due to habitat changes.
