Travesia of Lobos island
A swimming competition in the Canary Islands
It is one of the oldest swimming crossings in the regional panorama. The fact of uniting two islands through swimming is an attraction for all participants. A distance of approximately 3,4 km is what divides the island of Lobos of the island of Fuerteventura, that is the distance they have to travel all participants to reach the town of Corralejo in the north of the island and get the challenge of uniting the two islands. The good weather in the month of October on the island, with no wind and calm sea makes it like swimming in a pool for the participants.
The start will take place at 12:15 hours from the two beacons linked
together, located near "Punta Marrajo" or the point indicated by the
organization. This crossing is part of the V Open Water Cup of the
Canary Islands, of the Canarian Swimming Federation.
