and beautiful places to visit. And in this ultimate South African bucket
list guide, I will share the very best of them!
South Africa is full of hiking trails, with summits that show off the
beauty of the country. A morning hike up Lion's head is highly
recommended, to catch the sunrise, the colony of penguins and the mist
pouring over Table Mountain for some unbeatable views of the Capetonian
coastlines, turqoise waters and blue skies. If you have never been to
Africa before, you are in for a treat. With action packed Big 5 safari
adventures, hot air balloons, accompanied by the thrill of discovery, one
gets to enjoy the magical Safari experience in awe of the lions,
elephants, hippos and zebra's across our plains (just to name a few). This
experience can be followed by a relaxing visit to the Cape Winelands. Go
for wine tours, sample the delicious array of locally made wine, ride
horses through the vineyards whilst staying at the Boschendal Cottages.
The majestic cliffs of God's window in Mpumalanga, offers spectacular
scenery, a canyon that is one of the best spots in the country.
Namaqualand, also called the succulent Karoo, is a low-rainfall desert. In
spring, the Namaqua National Park is painted orange and pink by exuberant
daisies, making it feel as if you've entered a dream. South Africa is a
year-round travel destination. Sunny days, with hot, dry summers, warm
winters and great seasonal wildlife opportunities like whale watching.
When people think of 'Africa', many inaccurate stereotypes come to mind.
They don't often think of the nightlife in South Africa. The yachts in the
harbor, the many festivals and wonderful music. South Africa has a vibrant
and lively nightlife, with all the major cities offering something
different. From beach bar clubs, to rooftop nightcaps with friendly
encounters, there is an all-round great atmosphere. The festivals are sure
to leave you captivated as these events celebrate the diversity and
heritage of South Africa's people. These include but aren't limited to:
The Durban International Film Festival, Rocking the daisies(a personal
fave), The Cape Town International Jazz Festival, CottonFest (which
celebrates South African youth culture, fashion and talent), AfroPunk and
Back To The City.
