How to Start a Skincare Routine

So, you're new to skincare! No worries - It is never too late to start a good skincare routine.

Every routine starts with a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen (SPF). It's extremely important to cleanse your skin 1-2 times a day, protect it from the sun during the day, and help replenish hydration with a moisturizing product morning and/or night depending on your skin's needs. If you have specific skin care goals (like acne prevention, reducing fine lines, or quenching dehydration) you can add in more treatment steps, like serums and toners, to help achieve those goals.

It's always best to start with the basics and go from there! How to decide what products to use? A lot will depend on your skin type. If your skin tends to feel dry, you may prefer more creamy products. If your skin tends to get shiny by end of day, you might prefer lightweight gels or lotion textures.

Depending on your skin type and goals, you may need to adjust your routine or add more steps to help suit your needs. For example, if you have acne you may want to add a treatment serum before your moisturizer in the evening. Or if your skin is particularly dry, you may want to apply moisturizer before your sunscreen in the morning.
