jewellry

WHEN DID THOSE SHIMMERS START SHIMMERING?

Well, apparently jewellry wasn't even invented by humans. It was in fact invented by the Neanderthals (you thought I was going to say Aliens didn't you). Fun fact; they were really into perforated sea shells (seems like we got that one in common).

Anyways, it's safe to say that jewellry has been around for a hot minute. To be specific, it's been around for about 115,000 years. But when did we become 'good' at making jewellry (no offense)?

In my humble opinion, it would have been around 3300 - 3100 BC when we started developing some decent skills. Looking at the picture below - It's giving gemstones, it's giving classy and most importantly - I would probably wear it.

Now another interesting fact is that some Austrian archeologists 'recently' discovered the grave of a female jewellry maker (girlboss). The reason this is interesting to me is because they previously thought that it was a male dominated industry (really guys...?).

Anyways, let's move onto when things really got good. The Egyptians, yes, ofcourse. They moved onto gold and other luxurious metals, and let me tell you - it's starting to look really promising.

Oh wait...cool so it's becoming a 'status symbol' now, folks. And a lot of rich people got buried in them. It's giving 'privilege'.

Moving on to Greece. Those guys got really inventive. An example: They created a pendant that could be filled with perfume (see picture below)! Apparently 'SHEIN' sells them now, but let's not support fast fashion guys.
