Hot sauce is a type of condiment made from chili peppers, vinegar, and other seasonings. Common grocery store staples include Sriracha, Frank's RedHot, and Tabasco. However, as is true in most areas of life, you should support local when possible! Check out my current favorites from Michigan below.
This hot sauce sits at the top of the list because it is my all-time favorite. Unlike some hot sauces where all you get is flavorless hot nothingness, this one actually packs a TON of flavor. Use this on bland foods that'll really let this sauce shine, such as eggs, avocado toast, or just straight up on a spoon.
Though not the sauce that made them famous on Hot Ones, Hell Fire's Manzana is my personal favorite. It's made with fire-roasted Manzana peppers, which is quite an uncommon pepper in hot sauces, giving it an exotic, smoky kick. Try this if you're in the mood for something different (and certifiably hot)!
This hot sauce is made with fire-roasted Anaheim peppers and those famed Michigan cherries, creating a hot sauce that's slightly sweet and, well, tangy. This is my go-to for burgers, ribs, and whatever other meat is out there.
