What's a Bao?
Bao also known as baozi, is a type of Chinese steamed bun traditionally filled with pork, and steamed in bamboo baskets. There are many variations of bao buns. Some have meat fillings, while others are filled with seafood or vegetables. Nowadays there are many types of bao buns to suit everyone's taste!π
Here are some of my favourites!
(Cha Siu Bao)
A traditional and widely loved bao with a Chinese style BBQ pork filling.
(Sweet Custard Bao)
A bao with a sweet custard filling which is commonly found in Cantonese Dim Sum.
(Red Bean Bao)
Another widely loved bao filled with sweet adzuki bean paste.
(Glass Noodle Bao)
A unique bao filled with glass noodles and Chinese chives, for those who want to try something a little different.
