Knitting is fun!
(...especially knitting socks)
Are you scared of knitting socks?
So many knitters' knees knock at the
thought of 'turning a heel' or managing the 'magic loop', but the best way
to conquer a fear is to jump in and have a go! To knit a basic sock, all
you need to be able to do is knit and purl - and the rest you can learn as
you go along! There are lots of different ways to knit socks - top down,
toe up, two at a time - and there are lots of different kinds of heels,
such as short row heels, fish lips heels and afterthought heels. Knitting
socks is fun because there is always something new to learn - but for
beginners, it's good to start with a simple top down (cuff down) sock, and
learn how to work in the round with circular needles using the magic loop
technique.
