The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco, California. Plays in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association.The team was founded in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In its debut season, the team won the Basketball Association of America championship, which later became the National Basketball Association, after merging with the National Basketball League.
