The completo (Spanish for complete, total) is a
hot dog variation eaten in Chile, usually served with ingredients such as
chopped tomatoes, smashed palta (a.k.a
avocado in English), mayonnaise, sauerkraut, salsa Americana, ají
pepper or green sauce. It can be twice the size of an American hot dog.
But for Chilean people, a completo, more than fast food, is a comfort food
💓. You can enjoy it at home, in a restaurant, or in the streets thanks to
food trucks. It's possible to eat them when you are alone, or in the
company of your family or friends; and you can pair them any drink, like a
soda, a cup of tee, or a glass of beer! 🍻 Also can be the perfect food
for a celebration (very common on Chilean birthdays), or in the middle of
the night when you're super hungry after a party.
Oh, are you feeling sad and need something delicious to make you feel
better? Don't worry, ✨Completo✨ will be there for you!
There are different types and sizes of completos, and all of them have
their particular name. Here are the most popular, but there is so much
more:
