The Balearic Island of Majorca

About the Island

Majorca, or Mallorca, is the largest of the Spanish Balearic Islands. It is the seventh largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. In Todas las playas de Mallorca, Miguel Ángel Álvarez Alperi provides details, including their accessibility and services available, of the 262 beaches on the island. My personal favorite are the beaches of Cala Anguila and Cala Romantica. These coves, or calas, can be found in the far east of Majorca, near a fishing village called Porto Cristo. The coves provide great scenery, especially while swimming along the bays, sheltered by the beatiful cliffs. It is such a beautiful sight to look up while swimming and see the rugged cliffs made up of limestone.
