Baking and Cake Decorating
How I taught myself to bake and decorate cakes
I began learning how to bake when I was around 11 years old.
I did not get to go to culinary school, but I was able to teach myself how to bake and to decorate cakes.
I watched a lot of shows like
Ace of Cakes
and
Cake Boss,
along with all the food network cake decorating competitions.
With all the tips I would see in those competitions and shows, I slowly started learning better techniques with cake decoration, and was able to come up with my own styles as well.
I now have a very small business called
Sweets by Drey
where I sell baked goods and take custom cake orders.
It has gotten a lot easier to learn now with Instagram, Facebook, and pinterestand keep learning new things everyday.
