The Atlantic Ocean Crossing

November 2022 - January 2023

every year almost 4,500 sail boats cross The Atlantic Ocean most sailors startt the 2700nm journey in the Canary Islands
Some sail to Cape Verde and contoniue after a few days in the baustiful beaches of the islands off the African Coast, while others prefer to sail from the Canaries to the Caribbean witout stopping
The craziest sailors embark on this adventure alone, with no team to rely on in times of need
People that feel that sailing is to easy row the entire way, their arms providing the power of their vessel

Sailing has always been my passion and crossing The Atlantic Ocean has been at the top of my bucket list for many many years

This year that dream came true

on November 2022 we left Athens, greece starting our family adeventure
We spent the next six weeks sailing through the medditreanean sea preparing both physicaly and meantaly for the ocean

after leaving europe and exiting through the Strait of Gibraltar we were officialy in the ocean heading towards the Canary Islands there we would gear up and get ready for the 2700nm journey in the ocean

on December 14th we left Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and headed towards the Caribbean Isalnds
A crew of seven people ready to go!
We sailed day and night encountering rough weather and high seas
After two weeks of sailing and over 1000nm a head of us our auto pilot system broke forcing us to hold the steering wheel from that moment forward

Although the way was challenging and tiring the scenery made it all worth it
surrounded by miles and miles of water one could feel extremly small and alone but sea life and birds kept us company all the way through
We exprienced beautiful sunsets and dazzeling sunrises, impressive cloudy skies and colorful rainbows

The last sunset, 10nm of the shore of Martinique, was the most beatiful of them all.
