When Covid-19 arrived it changed many lives, but many people were suffering from depression and/or anxiety and it was devastating.
In my experience, as a person suffering from these mental health dissorders and after a difficult break up with "the love of life", I can surely say it was one of the most difficult times in my life.
After losing 15 pounds I met one of the most inspiring people in my life, a neurologist who is a friend of my father’s. He talked about his issues with depression and told me I should use every crisis as a beginning for a new project.
That was the beginning of my journey with music. My father is a great musician, but I was never able to learn an instrument. But in that point in my life, I just knew I wanted to have an ukelele. Lucky for me, my birthday was the week after so I asked my dad for a ukulele. He happily agreed.
I might sound extreme, but that instrument and the time I spent learning, playing and sharing this new ability has changed my life.
All I can say is, music can change your life. If you're going through a tough time, use it, you'll love every second you spend with it.
How I learned to play?
Youtube was my best friend and teacher through this journey. I created a playlist with my favorite tutorials, would you like to learn them?
