Ewa Aganyin is a special delicacy enjoyed by all and sundry in West African, Nigeria but has its origin from the western part of the country. History has it that this dish was usually prepared by a Beninese woman who sell street food to most especially to artisans.
once eating in the morning, its believe this meal can hold them for the whole day. Hence, the reason for continuous patronage making the woman more popular and the meal itself. It has since become a every household meal for most Nigerian. It is a dish made from bean also known as Pea especially black-eye pea.
Cooking this meal requires patient and carefully attentions so have to produce this delicious meal as its taste is sweeter than any bean meal you could ever imagine. The beans must be extremely soft and then mashed for a smooth consistant texture.
It also requires a special stew made from bell pepper, onion, ginger, garlic (optional), dried chilies and palm oil. It can also be eating with bread, cooked /fried or roasted yam, Dodo (fried plantain), boli (roasted plantain) or ogi (pap) or Eko.
