Borscht is the national dish of Ukrainians,
a symbol of Ukrainian culinary culture and prosperity. It is the main
first course of Ukrainian cuisine. There are three main varieties of
borscht in Ukraine: red
borscht, green
borscht and cold
borscht. The most common type of
borscht is red
borscht, which is cooked from chopped
beets, cabbage with the addition of potatoes and various seasonings. The
common feature of it is probably a sour taste.
