Seagrass
(Posedonia oceanica)

Seagrass is a flowering plant residing in shallow, sheltered habitats along the coast. These underwater gardens are full of life and provide a habitat for an array of fauna, overall increasing diversity and sustainability. Healthy seagrass meadows are better adapted to environmental changes, such as climate change.

Reducing human pressures on existing ecosystems will improve the efficiency of ecosystem services, e.g. habitat provision and carbon capture.
