Over 385 Acres of Natural Beauty


The Chicago Botanic Garden opened in 1972 and is a beautiful place to visit. It has grown into one of the world's great living museums and conservation science centers. Every year, more than one million people visit the Garden's 385 acres that includes: 27 gardens, four natural areas uniquely situated on and around nine islands as well as with six miles of lake shoreline. The Garden also has a renowned Bonsai Collection. Bonsai is a Japanese art form which utilizes cultivation techniques to produce, in containers, small trees that mimic the shape and scale of full size trees.
