Reading them and collecting quotes
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner
one tires of any thing than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I
shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.
In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you
can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.
We read books to find out who we are. What other people, real or
imaginary, do and think and feel... is an essential guide to our
understanding of what we ourselves are and may become.
