I LOVE HIKING!

Especially where the mountains hit the sea.

Mountains at sea

When everything feels like an uphill struggle, think about the view from the top.
Hiking should not only be seen as exercise which is good for ones health by reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers. Hiking to me means spending time in nature while being able to enjoy the peace and quiet, having time to let the thoughts wander and exercising at the same time. I personally have hiked a lot, especially since meeting my husband. We try to include a hike in every vacation which has lead to me having hiked in countries and cities like Mauritius, Vancouver, Tasmania and Wilsons Promotory in Australia - all places at which mountains hit the sea! We like to use a website called Komoot to plan our hikes as it provides recommendations from other hikers as well as a great overview of the track, length and elevation change. Feel free to try it out yourself!
