Book Review for 2022

I love to read in my free time! I've read over 34 books this year, including mangas. Although I didn't get to reach my goal of over 50 books, the ones I did get to read were amazing pieces of work! Here are my top 4 highly recommended books I've read this year:

It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover is a love story like none I have ever read. A definite tear-jerker and one that stays with you long after you have fininshed reading. Main character Lily is learning to navigate a new relationship and finds out Ryle is not who she thought he was. Lily's story is one that shows courage and strength to break the cycles of abuse.

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides is one unforgettable psychological thriller with many twists and turns that will leave your jaw on the floor in the end. Theo becomes obsessed with a former painter who murdered her husband, and he is determined to get her to unravel the great mystery of 'Why?'. In trying to break her silence, Theo heads down a twisting, dark path that threatens to consume him.

Solito by Javier Zamora is a gripping memoir where Javier recounts in graphic detail his treacherous 3,000 mile journey from his small town in El Salvador, crossing through Guatemala and Mexico to reach the USA to reunite with his parents. Alone, only 9 years old, and with only the company of strangers, his group was forced to depend on one another to survive a near-impossible journey.
