Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common chronic and
life-threatening genetic disease affecting the lungs and it can be
caused by over 2,100 different mutations in the
Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR)
gene. Although four CFTR modulators have been approved for clinical use,
they only benefit approximately 94% of individuals with CF. Thus, it is
crutial to find effective treatments for the remaining 6% of
individuals.
