A Christmas market is a street market associated with the celebration of Christmas during the four weeks of Advent. These markets originated in Germany, but are now being held in many other countries. Market stalls often include hand-crafted items such as decorations, cold-weather clothing or baked goods. Christmas markets in Germany generally have booths selling different kinds of Wurst (sausages) and sweets. Mulled wine and other hot drinks such as hot chocolate are commonly available.
