Reading is an activity that is typically learned from a young age, by
one's parents or in school. Reading is a necesity to navigate life as
everyone reads everyday, whether they enjoy it or not. I've always
enjoyed reading since I was a child with a wild imagine. I would emmerse
myself in the books that I read regardless of the length or genre. A
popular phenomenon in the United States is people not reading as much as
they age——something I'm also guilty of——but reading is still fundamental
to a person's mental development.
Wikipedia rights that "reading for pleasure has been linked to increased
cognitive progress in vocabulary and mathematics during adolescence.
Sustained high volume lifetime reading has been associated with high
levels of academic attainment." Meaning, the more we read, the more our
brains develop. I believe people, if possible, should spend more time
reading for health benefits.
