Eulalio, the sluggish floor-dweller of Upwood, spends most of his days eating or thinking about food. Endemic to the foothills of the Andes in Colombia, he takes any opportunity to score a meal. Back in his homeland, during his youthful years, he once dug up a decaying calf carcass, such was his hunger. These days, he prefers to munch on whatever his humans are preparing. His now more refined palate affords him the luxury of ingredients such as brie, carrot, and rice. On his walks, Eulalio moves through the village at a rate of about 2 yards per day, while munching on biscuits, sniffing and leaving his mark. Eulalio has an exceptionally low metabolic rate and spends 15 to 20 hours per day sleeping. And, surprisingly enough, this long-nosed animal is an exceptional hunter; he occasionally stands up to catch a venison treat.
