The family Felidae is made up of two subfamilies: Pantherinae that constitutes the 7 big cats, and Felinae that

There are 25 species of wild cats are currently threatened with extinction. Five species are listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red
List of Threatened species, thirteen more wild cat species are listed as Vulnerable and seven species of wild cats are listed as Near Threatened.
Sadly, over half of all wild cat species are currently threatened. Several wild cats are endangered. This needs to stop;
the consequence of not doing so is a world without tigers, lions, leopards and many other cat species.
