Consumers are increasingly interested in shopping online.
It is important to know that while buying online can be extremely convenient, there are some particularities that one
must not ignore.
So how can you as a consumer make your online shopping safer?
Here are 3 tips for you:
Look for familiar websites and Look for the Lock Start at a trusted site. Search results can be rigged to lead you astray,
especially when you drift past the first few pages of links. If you know the site, chances are it's less likely to be a
rip-off. Never ever, ever buy anything online using your credit card from a site that doesn't have SSL (secure sockets
layer).
You'll know if the site has SSL because the URL for the site will start with HTTPS—instead of just HTTP.
We know that nobody reads the terms and condition before clicking on the “I agree” button. That’s why every consumer has the right to receive clear, correct and comprehensible key information from a trader about the product or service before making an online purchase. Pay attention to the delivery timeframe, return and refund policy. If something is not clear contact t1he customer service before buying.
If something goes wrong, complain to the seller. If you don't get satisfaction, report it. Notify your credit card company about the charge and close your account. File a complaint with your national enforcement authorities.
