At first sight, not many would suspect that these 4 so different regions are connected by a partnership.
The Opole Voivodeship, Rhineland-Palatinate, Central Bohemia, and Burgundy Franche-Comté will celebrate their partnership's 20th anniversary in 2023. The four partners signed a joint declaration on May 21, 2003, creating a network of four regional partners. In the areas of politics, society, business, culture, and administration, the four regions work together. The alliance specifically increases people's awareness of the regions and strengthens the regional element of the EU's political system, ensuring the closest possible proximity to citizens, solid local expertise, and potential of identification. The partners implement projects in a wide range of fields using this as a foundation, including those that fall under the purview of European funding schemes. Culture, education, and universities are among the areas of cooperation.
I actually come from one region of the network. I was born and raised in Rhineland-Palatinate and have been lucky enough to live in three of the four regions of the network. The cooperation between the regions was therefore a stroke of luck for me. I love the French language and culture. So I took part in a youth project in Opole and Mainz. I did an internship in Dijon and lived there for almost half a year, and I am currently living in Opole to do an internship.
