Avocado toast is simply avocado fruit spread onto toasted bread, but millenials like me have taken this recipe to the nth degree. We add extra ingredients like hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, pickled onions, sriracha, bagel seasoning, and anything else that we can afford after we got screwed over by the 2008 market crash and sky-high student loan debt. While we millenials are chasing any ounce of seratonin by taking SSRI's, going to therapy, shopping at Trader Joe's, and meeting our friends at microbreweries for brunch on the weekends (inevitably including avocado toast), millionaire Tim Gurner attempts to block any bit of happiness we have left:
"When I was trying to buy my first home, I wasn't buying smashed
avocado for $19 and four coffees at $4 each."
- Timmy G.
