Calligraphy is a visual artform in which the artist, known as a "Calligrapher", produces handwritten, stylised letters or words using a pen, ink brush or other writing instrument.
Calligraphy styles vary depending on the origin, style conventions and the tools used during the creation process.
It is a common misconception that all forms of artistic writing; such as lettering or typography, are forms of calligraphy however, but whilst the differences may seem minor, the results are quite different.
