Ninfas do Lis Choir is a female vocal ensemble from Leiria, Portugal, founded in 2003. Currently, it has twenty-five singers, accompanied by the pianist Inês Costa and conducted by Mário Nascimento. Among its eclectic repertoire there are sacred and secular pieces, classical and folk songs, Portuguese compositions and from many countries of the world, covering a wide range of historical periods from the Gregorian chant to the contemporary music. The choir has given several concerts all along Portugal in highly recognized places like Casa da Música (Oporto), National Palace of Queluz (Lisbon), Batalha Monastery, Convent of Christ (Tomar), Alcobaça Monastery, Music Museum (Lisbon), National Tile Museum (Lisbon) and Pax Julia Theatre (Beja). In July 2012, the choir participated in the Freamunde International Choir Competition, winning the "1st prize in the sacred music competition for equal voices", the "Best performance of a sacred Portuguese piece" and the "Public award". In July 2017, the choir participated in the inaugural International Choral Festival of Aveiro, Portugal, winning the 1st prize in the categories of Female Voice Choirs, Folklore, Gospel/Pop/Jazz and having also won the Grand Prix First Prize. In August 2017, an interchange with Grupo Coral das Lajes do Pico provided the opportunity to sing in several Azores islands – Pico, Faial and S. Jorge.
