What is EDS?

EDS stands for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a connective tissue disorder that effects 1 in 20,000 people.
It is believed to be hereditary however this has yet to be confirmed. The way this disorder affects people can vary massively, from people who only have hypermoblie joints (otherwise know as being double jointed) to people who have crippling chronic pain and various other side effects.

Below are listed some of the symptoms starting with the most common?

• Joint hypermobiliy
• loose, unstable joints that dislocate easily
• joint pain and clicking joints
• Chronic fatigue (being extremely tired all the time)
• skin that bruises easily
• velvety skin that is often very stretchy and prone to scaring
• digestive problems
• slow healing
