Beach yoga is the practice of yoga in the relaxing and tranquil setting of the beach, pairing the soothing influence of ocean waves with a calming yet energizing asana practice. Recent research confirms that spending time near a body of water reduces stress. The smell of the beach, sound of the crashing waves and feel of the sand and sight of the seemingly endless water and sky all affect the brain in a way that creates a calming influence.

How to practice it?

A Beach Yoga class might incorporate the majority of yoga types performed in the West. A few of the yoga styles that are becoming more prevalent are Vinyasa flow, Hatha yoga, and Ashtanga. Although Beach Yoga is frequently linked with the ocean, classes may be found almost anywhere where there is a beach, lake or river. Beach towels are equally as acceptable in Beach Yoga as yoga mats, and some yogis choose to practice without either, preferring the sand's soft texture.
