Marriage in many ways can be likened to cooking your favorite meal. There are many ingredients that help make this “favorite meal” delicious and its taste long lasting. Out of all these ingredients, a lot of people argue which is the most important. Some say it is love, others trust, understanding, respect, etc.
Just as salt is the most important ingredient in any cooking experience,
friendship is the most important piece of this jigsaw puzzle called
marriage. I believe friendship is the most important ingredient because,
it is the level of relationship where the parties involved are very real
to themselves with no form of pretense. It is at this level of the
relationship that everyone is free to be themselves and relate without
having a lot at stake. The friendship level has every other ingredient
that makes marriages successful in their realest form. Friendship is a
form of marriage without all its “responsibilities and obligation.”
