Dotar
The Iranian Musical instrument
Dotar (meaning “two strings” in Persian) is a folkloric plucked musical instrument with a pear-shaped bow crafted with dried wood or mulberry tree,
a neck made of apricot or walnut wood, and two strings.
Iranians have crafted and played the Persian Dotar for centuries in a vast area. It is also one of the contemporary Iranian musical instruments.
The purpose of playing Dotar in Iran is to convey the valuable cultural concepts of Iran to others by music.
