Shakshuka

The ultimate lazy yet amazing dish

Shakshuka is a simple dish made of gently poached eggs in a delicious chunky tomato and bell pepper sauce. Said to have originated in Tunisia, this breakfast recipe is popular in many parts of North Africa and the Middle East. It is so satisfying, you can serve it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Ingredients:

Get your pan ready!

Start by warming some oil on the pan and then adding the red bell pepper. Let it fry a bit and then pour the tomatoes from the can, mix and add spices (save corriander as a garnish). When the sauce is ready, use the back of a spoon and make some holes in the sauce. Crack your eggs into the holes you created. Cover the pan and allow the eggs to simmer in the sauce over medium-low heat until the eggs are done to your liking. Once done, garnish with herbs and toppings of your choice (e.g sunflowers seeds, feta crumbles).

Serve with fresh bread for breakfast, lunch or quick dinner.

Bon appetit!
