Belgian beer is world-renowned. As a matter of fact,
Belgium is the only country whose beer culture is inscribed on
UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of
Humanity! In 2018, this tiny country with a size 4 times smaller than New York
had 304 active breweries, including international companies, such as AB
InBev, and traditional breweries such as Trappist monasteries. Most
beers here are bought or served in bottles, rather than cans, and almost
every beer has its own branded, sometimes uniquely shaped, glass. There
are about 21 different styles of Belgian beers depending on colour,
brewing method and alcohol level. Some of the most known styles are
Trappist
,
Lambic
and
Tripel
beers.
