On 24 February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014. The invasion has resulted in tens of thousands of Ukranian deaths. Up until February 24, Ukrainian cities were full of life. They prospered. They grew. Mariupol, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Bucha, Irpin... The streets of these cities were like any others in Europe, teeming with peaceful people living their lives. Now, after Russia’s brutal invasion, only fear, death, and despair are spreading on these streets.
