Ukrainian borscht is included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. The corresponding decision was made on July 1 at the 5th extraordinary meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage. "Culture of cooking Ukrainian borscht" was added to the UNESCO List at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, expert Maryna Sobotiuk and star chef Yevhen Klopotenko. In March 2021, the Ministry of Culture submitted a nomination file for consideration by UNESCO regarding the Ukrainian element "Culture of making Ukrainian Borscht", which was to be included in the representative list. We will be happy to share borscht and its recipes with all civilized countries so that they can have delicious Ukrainian borscht.
