Pizza is a dish of Italian origin consisting of a usually round, flat base of leavened wheat-based dough topped with tomatoes, cheese, and often various other ingredients, which is then baked at a high temperature, traditionally in a wood-fired oven. A small pizza is sometimes called a pizzetta.
STEP 1
Heat oven to 240C/220C fan/gas 9. Oil a 20 x 24cm baking tray. Mix
the flour, yeast, ΒΌ tsp salt and the sugar in a bowl, then stir in
the water. Bring the mixture together, knead until smooth, then
press into the oiled tray.
STEP 2
Spread passata over the dough, leaving a thin border round the edge.
Season the passata, then sprinkle with the chopped basil, the
mozzarella and the Parmesan, and bake for 15-20 mins or until cooked
through. Scatter with the remaining basil and serve with a side
salad.
