An easy crockpot dinner and a quick treat for your sweet-tooth
You can start this meal at anytime of day, but my personal favorite way to make this meal is starting it
right
before work.
That is the beauty of the crockpot, you can set it and forget about it! Before we dive in to this recipe
let's
gather the ingredients.
1 1/2 Lbs of cubed stew meat (or 1 1/2 Lbs of pork roast, uncut)
1/2 Lbs of baby carrots
1 Lbs of petite golden potatoes
1 celery stalk
1 medium onion
1 package of McCormick Brown Gravy mix (or gravy of your choice)
season to taste of each: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and SeasonAll
1 cup of water
Yum loading (The Process):
Line your crock-pot with a slow cooker bag,
then turn on the crockpot on low heat. If you aren't cooking
this
in the
morning, put it on medium heat. Season the meat thoroughly π§ with the garlic and onion powder, salt,
pepper
and SeasonAll,
then place in the crockpot and cover with the lid π₯
Wash the carrots π₯ and potatoes π₯ and then roughly chop them into bite sized pieces, however, not too
small
that
they turn
into mush once done cooking.
Dice celery and onion into small, even slices, as these vegetables are only there to provide additional
hints of flavor,
not to stand out in the dish. π§ π₯
Toss in all of the chopped veggies with the meat. Mix the cup of water with the packaged gravy mix and
pour
evenly over
the meat and veggies, recover with the lid.
Once everything is in your crockpot you can let the dish cook while you are out at work or whatever your day
leads you
to. Only let the dish cook a maximum of 8 hours, to avoid overcooking the vegetables. If you are cooking
this a
couple
hours before dinner time and decide to put it on medium heat, 5 hours is the maximum time.
Once the dish is cooked I like to pair the dish with a nice glass of red wine π· and await my magic cookie
bars
in
the oven π
πͺ Magic Cookie Bars! πͺ
The magic cookie bars are an easy delicious way to satisfy your sweet-tooth after this savory dinner. One
pan
and
virtually no clean up, this is a tried and true favorite!
Letβs get into the magic of these bars shall we?

1 cup of butterscotch chips
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
πͺ The Transformation Process πͺ :
Put the butter into a 13 X 9 inch baking pan and place into cold oven, once in the oven, heat it to 350
degrees
(fahrenheit), and once the oven has reached optimal temperature remove the pan, the butter should be
well
melted, place
pan on a heat safe surface β¨οΈ
Coat the bottom of the pan with the graham cracker crumbs and mix well with the butter to make a
βcrustβ.
Pack down the crumbs into a nice even layer, then cover with the sweetened condensed milk. (For a fall
touch, mix the
sweetened condensed milk with pumpkin pie filling π₯§)
Spread the coconut flakes, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and optional nuts on to the top of the
cookies. (For a
πchristmas π touch use crushed peppermint and white chocolate chips in place of the butterscotch chips
and
chocolate chips)
Cover with aluminum foil and then place back into the oven for 30 minutes β²
Remove from the oven and let cool, cut, serve and enjoy! These bars are always a hit at potlucks and
gatherings.
