We are a film club started by two friends wanting to watch horror movies directed, starting, and written by women, LGBTQ+ people and BIPOC individuals. Join us to explore the vastness of the horror genre!

Women in Horror
Women have always been in the horror genre whether that is behind the screen, in the writer's room, or on the silver screen. In this film club, we celebrate the final girl, the witch, the monster and all those in between. A few examples we would reccommend are:

    Now that Chris and his girlfriend, Rose, have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with her parents, Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behaviour as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries leads him to a truth that he never could have imagined.

  • The Ring

    When her niece is found dead along with three friends after viewing a supposedly cursed videotape, reporter Reiko Asakawa (Nanako Matsushima) sets out to investigate. Along with her ex-husband, Ryuji (Hiroyuki Sanada), Reiko finds the tape, watches it -- and promptly receives a phone call informing her that she'll die in a week. Determined to get to the bottom of the curse, Reiko and Ryuji discover the video's origin and attempt to solve an old murder that could break the spell.
