Over the last 30 years, Giraffes in Africa have declined in numbers from
approximately 155,000 to 100,000. In the wild, African elephants now
outnumber giraffes 4 to 1. The giraffe population's decline is so recent
that people hardly know about it! Two species of giraffe are even
considered to be critically endangered.
