Grown on trees, apples are ready to harvest between August and November in the Northern hemisphere. When picking, make sure your apples are predominantly red for the best flavour. For yellow and green apples, look for a little blush 😊 Learn more.
Lift the apple upwards and give it a little twist to release it from the tree.
This will prevent bruising from trying to grab an apple out of reach.
Wrap your palm gently around the apple to avoid leaving finger marks.
The more red on the apple the better. Don't forget to look for blush on green apples!
Throwing or dropping the apples into your basket will cause bruising.
